A little about our history …

The idea of creating an Ecological Center in Los Guatuzos was an initiative of the Association Friends of the Earth - Spain in 1996, and its operations started in 1999.

The initial idea of the Project was conceived as a space to promote scientific studies for the purposes of making experiments; over time, it was able to identify the big potential for ecotourism in the area, which coincided with the worldwide phenomenon of community-oriented tourism.

At present, the Center is managed and coordinated by Friends of the Earth - Spain.

Mission

To become a center where responsible tourism is practiced, promoting a harmonious interaction between visitors and nature through a touristic offer that involves different local actors, guaranteeing the development of quality service, safety and mutual trust
